HESSEQUA NEWS - The Jonker family has been proud owners of Jakkalsvlei (directly translated as Jackal's Marsh) since 1972. The farmland was called Jakkalsvlei because of all the foxes, jackals and wild cats seen in the mountains surrounding the farmland.
Today Jakkalsvlei wines are enjoyed by people all over the Garden Route, including some fine restaurants. You can't help but fall in love with the breathtaking views and the beautiful mountain range surrounding the farm.
Jakkalsvlei received gold medals for three of its wines at the prestigious Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards, judged by international and local judges: Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, River Cuvée (Chenin Blanc/Sauvignon Blanc) 2015 and Hanepoot NV.
Wines
- Reds: Cabernet Sauvignon, Coffee Pinotage, Mount Cuvée
- Whites: CRiver Cuvée, Sauvignon Blanc, La Perlé Rosé
- Dessert: HSA Champion Hanepoot, Red Muscadel, Trop (a.k.a Port)
